Coach Underwood is currently a Special Needs Teacher at Suntree Elementary. Prior to joining Satellite, Coach Underwood was the varsity head coach for Cocoa Beach H.S. for the 2020 season. He was also the Defensive Coordinator for the Minutemen in 2019. Coach Underwood was born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Anderson, SC where he is an ‘07 graduate from Hanna H.S. (Home of Chadwick Boseman from the movie “Black Panther” and also James “Radio” Kennedy — inspired the movie “Radio”). Coach Underwood was a multi-sport athlete for the Yellow Jackets winning a Region Championship for football and running the 100m, 200m and 4x100 in track. Coach Underwood earned a scholarship to play football at Fairmont State University in Fairmont, W.V. and graduated in 2012 with a B.A. in Criminal Justice. He played Safety for the Fighting Falcons and was a four year starter along with First Team All WVIAC, Lindy’s Preseason All American, Football Gazette All Super Region I, 2nd All Time School History in Solo Tackles, 7th All time in Total Tackles, and FCS senior scout bowl. Later, he played professionally for the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks and the Trenton Freedom — both in the (PIFL - Professional Indoor Football League)
